Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could secure national sponsorship for the Buddy Walk®? We believe that it is possible, but the staff of ds-connex had to first examine how we are doing currently – and what we can learn from each other. Now, we have pulled together a new research report as part of our ongoing commitment to support our Down syndrome community and help you grow your Buddy Walk® event.
Here are some interesting observations from our findings:
• Buddy Walk® events that use sponsorship (and recognize sponsors online) as a fundraising strategy raise an average of nearly $21,000 more than those that do not.
• Buddy Walk® events that post sponsorship information on their event websites or Facebook pages raise an average of over $11,000 more than those that do not.
• Buddy Walk® events that employ a tiered sponsorship system raise an average of nearly $41,000 more than those that do not.
